November NanoWriMo and 10 Things Tuesday

November NanoWriMo and 10 Things Tuesday

I’ve never been much good at joining group projects, so I suppose today makes no exception. I’ve always been one to do things on my own terms, especially, if not always, things that require creativity…

How I deal with depression and feelings of emptiness

How I deal with depression and feelings of emptiness

Hello all, continuing on from last time, today we are going to discuss something really rather uncomfortable, but something I really think should be addressed more in our contemporary culture: Depression. It’s no secret that I suffer…

If You Walk Away, I’ll Walk Away

If You Walk Away, I’ll Walk Away

If you walk away, I’ll walk away First tell me which road you will take I don’t want to risk our paths crossing some day So you walk that way, I’ll walk this way Summer…

October Merits: The Apple Orchard

October Merits: The Apple Orchard

It’s been a long time since I have posted a simple adventure, but we made our yearly trip to the apple orchard this past week. The sun was bright (too bright, really) and the skies…

Friday Musings 1.5: Fall Mood Board

Friday Musings 1.5: Fall Mood Board

The first day of fall was yesterday. I’ve been seeing the season slip into a new chapter for a few weeks now. The grass grows slower and therefore does not need its biweekly haircut. Acorns…

Friday Musings 1.4: The Peasant Blouse

Friday Musings 1.4: The Peasant Blouse

It’s the perfect season for billowy fabrics that lay lightly on the skin, showing just enough through to entice the imagination. Soon, it will time for dancing in the autumn breezes whilst our toes crunch…

Smile, Dear: On Changing What You Can About a Bad Situation

Smile, Dear: On Changing What You Can About a Bad Situation

Why aren’t you smiling? Why aren’t we all smiling? Everywhere I look there are downward lips drooping into the sidewalk. I do understand. We all have a moment when we feel “stuck” – we are…

Friday Musings 1.3

Friday Musings 1.3

I didn’t mean for it to be, but this is apparently book week. As in, my post from Wednesday was about books. This post is about books. Sunday’s post will (assuming I don’t pull it)…

7 Things I wish I had known when I first started blogging

7 Things I wish I had known when I first started blogging

I started my first blog long ago in 2012. Looking back, I almost don’t identify with the young woman who threw together a slough of posts simply for her own amusement. It’s certainly a journal of…

Taken on a day when the sun peeped out for just a minute and I actually felt like doing things. The fatigue is real lately, but there are some things I make a point to inhale: the scent of fresh cut grass, shades of mauve, tinges of lace, the feeling of my dog's breath, and the golden sunsets reflecting off my plants. Happy Easter all! "In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Luke 24:5-7 Happy almost Easter! Happy first day of spring, little one. Next spring I will take you outside in the golden light and point to each of the flowers, explaining their colors and which ones are my favorites. I will show your new little eyes every precious bud and let you smell each perfume as if it was brand new to the world, for to you, it shall be. 🥀 Working on a snow day but the view ain't half bad. ❄️🤗 Just tiny little things, ~some thrifted~, that make me think of you, before I even know you. The sun is coming up sooner and sooner and it makes me so happy I could dance. Damn straight it is. #womensmarch I love being snowed in every once in a while. Such a lovely time for reflection, appreciation, snuggles, and pancakes. So these are still up, but perhaps not looking so bright and I really, really should throw them away but I'm not quite ready to say goodbye. Nothing like a frozen morning to nurse a cold indoors with my dogs beside me and a little one inside me. May you all be in good health. ❤️ I love my bedroom, which is great considering how much time I spent there today. Sitting here, on soft flannels surrounded by sweet canine snores, just feeling so happy. Unfortunately, I feel like pregnancy has left me dry, less creative, but I never forget to be thankful for a sunset. So I meant to post yesterday, but I guess you could say something else is affecting my brain. Happy 6th Anniversary to my dear husband. It's been an adventurous six years, with apparently quite a few more adventures to come. Yep, the thing we all thought was never going to happen is set for next July. ❤️ Santa's been real good to me this year. Tired pups from an eventful morning. Merry Christmas. 🤶
